America’s Mediator Sean Collinson, Mediator and Expert Contributor on Dr. Phil.

Sean Collinson’s current profession rose out of personal and family challenges that started in Bedford Stuyvesant area of Brooklyn, New York, the same neighborhood as Jay Z. Sean’s teenage mother who had him at the age of 14 raised him, along with his maternal grandmother. Sean’s father was tragically killed by gunshot when Sean was only a toddler. Sean struggled in school and ran with a rough crowd, but he managed to beat the odds and navigated his way out of the streets of Brooklyn by landing a recording contract with Epic/Tabu records mogul Clarence Avant. He was known as the rapper named “Kid Flash” in 1988 with the song debut “Hot Like Fire.” Sean has relentless determination and drive, along with a constant belief that all people, including him, can do better.

Mr. Collinson was trained at Loyola Law School “Mediating the Litigated Case” program and attended and completed the Harvard Law School Initiative Program on Negotiations, as well as completing the Florida Supreme Court’s Certified Family Law Mediation Program. He has mediated over a billion dollars in family law cases throughout the United States. His clients include some of the most recognizable names in music, film, and professional sports. He has mediated the divorces for many celebrities, including, Bernie Williams (NY Yankees), Kristoff St. John (Young & the Restless), Alfonso Ribeiro (Fresh Prince of Bel Air), Shannon Elizabeth, Master P, Americas Got Talent co-star Mel B, and many others.

Mr. Collinson is the author of four (4) bestselling books “How to Win In and Out of Family Court,” “I Want Out: How To Get Out Without Losing Your Dignity, Yourself, and Your Money”, “7 Keys to Love”, and “The Whiteout.” Mr. Collinson is the President and Co-Founder of POP Protocol (Pull Over Protocol) a non-profit organization that is dedicated to bridging the gap between civilians and law enforcement. Sean is also CNT Hostage Negotiator, private pilot, and UAS Deployment Tactics Team member.

Sean strives for every mediation to have the “breakthrough moment,” and to help families avoid the stress and damage of a prolonged court experience. Sean has the extraordinary ability to use real talk, tough love, compassion, and inspiration to bring balance and change perceptions. He manages to ensure that everyone walks away from their situation transformed, with a renewed state of mind on what truly matters.
